I write this endorsement first as a former AB540 student and a proud graduate of the LACCD system, and second as a professor now teaching within the system that prepared me for UCLA, for ASU and Maryland University. I am proud to endorse Dr. Gabriel Buelna for reelection to the Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees.

I know from the inside what LACCD’s mission means, because it changed the course of my life.

I understand from my personal experience that LACCD is more than a system of colleges, it is where our community finds hope. It is where dreams that once felt out of reach begin to take shape, where opportunity is restored, and where people from every walk of life discover the tools to build a brighter future. Dr. Gabriel Buelna understands that mission personally and professionally, and I believe in his leadership because I believe in what LACCD made possible for me.
